Armstrong Painting & Construction An Angi Horror Story

Introduction

I hired Isaiah Armstrong, of (Isaiah) Armstrong Painting & Construction, Birmingham, Alabama, to extend our patio by adding a 15’x15’ slab, along with a 3’x9’ smaller slab next to the garage for my garbage and recycling bins. I hired him through the Angie’s List - now known as Angi - service, where Mr. Armstrong billed himself as an experienced contractor. I paid Mr. Armstrong $1,250 as a 50% down to have this work done on May 23, 2021, with the agreement being that the remaining balance would be paid on the work’s completion. Mr. Armstrong performed his “services” in June 16, 2021.

This was the result.

I later learned that Isaiah Armstrong, of Armstrong Painting & Construction, Birmingham, Alabama, was and remains an unlicensed contractor and was, at the time at least, running an unlicensed business.

Angi has been repeatedly informed of this, and has refused to take any action regarding Isaiah Armstrong.

As Angi has thus far refused to take any action against Mr. Armstrong, where he is still listed on their site as an “Angi-Certified” professional, I have decided to create this site as a complete accounting of Mr. Armstrong’s incompetent and negligent behavior. And to spotlight Angi’s (lack of) responses so that others may make their own decisions about whether to do business with Isaiah Armstrong and whether to trust Angi.
