Armstrong Painting & Construction An Angi Horror Story

The point: Isaiah Armstrong did not even make a passing attempt at properly building concrete forms, which resulted in the unacceptable product he delivered.

Concrete Forms Improperly Built

Figure 14. The concrete forms were not built property, resulting in a large amount of concrete blowing out underneath the forms.

The forms for what was supposed to be the 3x9 slab were not even staked to the ground and only barely nailed together. Isaiah Armstrong and his subcontractors also did not fully place the forms before beginning to pour concrete on the main 15x15 slab.

Additionally, the forms that were constructed by Isaiah Armstrong and his crew, as demonstrated in figure 14 above, did not use a uniform height of wood. This made it impossible for Isaiah Armstrong to properly level the either slab or determine the height of the slab as it was poured.

This is not even remotely acceptable work, and it is clear that this was done in the dark (see additional info, point 10) by a crew that simply wanted to get done as quickly as possible. These can barely even be called “forms” at all. This work is sloppy even by the standards of the rest of Isaiah Armstrong’s work on this project, and that is already an incredibly low bar.

At no point did I agree to accept a slab of less than 4 inches, or a slab that did not meet building codes.
